Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that powers that tool. Accomack County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy controls its handling of the query.

Messages sent by email or a contact form may include a name, email address, and any details the sender chooses to provide. We keep that information as needed to answer the message. It is not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data and Cookies

Routine technical information can be recorded when a page loads. It may include:

  • Internet Protocol address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • The referring page, when supplied.
  • Date and time stamps.

Cookies and similar tools help measure how visitors use the pages. Browser settings can block or clear cookies, though some site functions may then behave differently.

How Information Is Used

Collected data helps operate and secure the site, route a query to the chosen search partner, understand which pages are useful, diagnose technical faults, and present advertising that may reflect visitor interests.

Other Websites and Advertising

Links lead to Accomack release sources, sheriff and corrections pages, government locators, legal materials, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy terms apply. Advertising partners may use their systems to measure activity across sites and tailor ads.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Search partners that process a submitted query.
  • Analytics providers that measure site use.
  • Advertising networks serving or measuring ads.
  • Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.

Security Practices

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information. No internet-connected service is fully secure, however, and this notice cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on applicable law, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held about them, request correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. A request can be sent through the Contacts page. Identity may need to be verified before action is taken.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. The updated version will appear here with a new effective date.
